Taking advantage of the nice weather I decided to pour my new wedging block. There is a ton of information on the web about what to use, how to do it etc. I take it all with a grain of salt and forge ahead. It's not going to be in MOMA, it just has to function.
I saw an idea from a Ceramics Arts Daily video from a studio tour and she had a great idea. She created a small well at the end of the wedging area - to pour slip into , to dry up. So- I gave it a try. It came out very well and now I will let it cure for a week or so before using. It will be part of a new small studio set up in the house.

Pottery Plaster, Drill & Jiffy Mixer, Water |

Used a plastic bin (lightly sprayed with oil) with some sand under it - so it is level and won't move once filled with the plaster. The stainless steel bowl was oiled and held in place as I poured the plaster and then as it set up a brink was put in to hold it. |

After a few hours the bowl slid out nicely |
