Monoprint Workshop

This week in the studio I ran 2 sessions for students in workshop style. I covered surface decoration using a technique of monoprinting onto clay using underglazes. It looked easy at first but requires practice and experimentation. It was a nice shift from the heads down at the potters wheel that students often want to maintain during a regular class lesson. Learning about ceramics is so much more off the wheel than on. Here are some early pictures from this week.  More to follow.

  1. Beautiful! I love printmaking - both the process and the results. Something about how hands-on it is makes it so fun! Thanks for sharing.

  2. These patterns truly look nice. Good luck with sessions!
